Let’s Be Real
Anyone else work an 8-5 job? Are your kids in sports or extracurricular activities? Do you have other things you do besides your job like exercise, date night, or other hobbies?
There are times where we feel the quantity of time that we have with are children can be quite small! HOWEVER, although quantity is extremely important, quality is MUCH more important.
What DOES quality really mean?
Let me share with you a story:
Growing up, my dad was one of those "super busy" dads. He owned his own company and I felt he always had someone to talk with on the phone or email to send. Although he was busy, one thing I remember him doing was turning his phone once he got home for at least 3 hours while us kids were still awake.
Looking back, this provided my dad the opportunity to focus on quality time spent with us. He was just present but he was present (if you catch my drift).
How to?
Set your phone down
Turn your tablet off
Put your computer to sleep (starting to see a pattern here?)
Put your own wants on hold
Clean a little less, play a little more (or you could always make a game out of cleaning)
Don’t be in such a hurry
Just go with it!
